About the OPEN HEAVEN ROOM

The Open Heaven is a place where you can leave the world behind and glorify God without interruption.  It is foundational to a larger ecumenical movement that would lead to the creation of a Christian Community Center in Woodstock where the Open Heaven Room would be open for at least 16 hours a day, 6 days a week.  Please refer to the presentation at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65ns-TBOB-Y.

In the Open Heaven Room where we pray and worship using the “Harp and Bowl” model with continuous, improvisational music accompanied by intermittent spontaneous scripture reading, spoken prayers, and prophetic words.  There is no teaching, no preaching, no explanations or contextualization.

We are free to come and go as we wish, praying for a few minutes or the full two hours without any other agenda or expectations.

On a spiritual level, the Open Heaven Room bathes the city of Woodstock in prayer and provides a prayer covering for everyone in the city. 

Harp and bowl prayer was introduced by the International House of Prayer in Kansas City where they have been worshipping continuously 24 hours a day, 7 days a week since 1998.  Imagine that!!!!

Open Heaven Room is about taking your eyes off your problems and putting them on God’s promises.

Open Heaven Room is about heaven both here and in the hereafter
Open Heaven Room is about blessing the light, not cursing the darkness
Open Heaven Room addresses the future and not the present condition of things
Open Heaven Room is about  universal themes and not about individuals
Open Heaven Room ministry is transcendent and not earthbound
Open Heaven Room ministry is experiential rather than motivational
Open Heaven Room is where the new Jerusalem is described – the old has passed away
Open Heaven Room is what it looks like after Jesus has returned
Blueprints for action or definition of problems are assigned to the local church, not the Open Heaven Room
Edification, discipleship, personal ministry, etc. is for the local church, not the Open Heaven Room.
Open Heaven Room is not about what God can do for us but about who God is and what His Kingdom looks like
Open Heaven Room is about the victory of God, not the threat of failure
Open Heaven Room does not address earthly issues which are temporary but proclaims eternal truths and visions
Prayer should foster unity not division - prayers should not divide people, churches, countries, etc. into groups.

7:30 PM - 8:00 PM  Prayers of blessing for our city and its churches. Feel free to come forward and offer up prayers for Woodstock.
8:00 PM   Invitation to personal prayer ministry. All pastors are invited to pray for those who come are in need of prayer.
